November 2024:

Initial Assessment - Complete

• Basement pumped and cleaned

• Front window reinstalled

• Initial main floor and orchestra cleaning

• Building purchased by 927 St. Joachim L'Association

April 2025:

PHASE 1: Stabilization, Safety and Security -  Complete

• The front door's broken glass was repaired and secured

• Flooring has been repaired or replaced where needed 

• Unsecured plaster was repaired and necessary drywall was removed

• The entire building’s main floor and basement were cleaned

• Side entrance roofs were replaced

May 2025:

• Ductwork cleaned

• New electrical panel installed

• New furnace installed

• New sump pump installed

• Connected to hydro

• Professional mold remediation

June 2025:

• Hardwood flooring purchased for the sanctuary

• Flower beds were renewed and planted

• Landscaping behind building has been refreshed

• Exterior restoration ongoing

• Basement lighting installed

July 2025:

• Bell tower windows closed up

• East, West and North windows repaired and sealed

August 2025:

• Attended the Comber Fair!

• Removal of chimney

• Refinish wood around front entry

• Design basement ramps

September 2025:

• Sucessful Open House event! (Sunday September 14)

• Expose original wainscotting

October 2025:

In progress:

• Install accessible basement washrooms

• Connect the new furnaces to the existing ductwork

• Connect to municipal water

• Restore original internal north room windows

• Grant writing and fundraising

• Plan for winter events

• Enlist a Volunteer Coordinator

• Estalish subcomittees (Construction, Events, Decorating, Fundraising, Media, Programming/ Ongoing Activities)

Exterior:

• Host Winter Event!

• Install the automatic bell ringer

• Repair the large exterior windows on the north of the building

• Replace the windows on the north side and the basement

Basement:

• Paint the floor

• Seal the stone foundation

• Install emergency and exit lights

• Insulate the two entrances

• Install ramps / elevator

Future:

Main floor:

• Insulate and drywall the front entrance

• Replace the floor in the northeast room

• Repair the plaster on the walls and ceiling

• Wire in electricity

• Install acessible washrooms

• Install lighting and signage

• Restore the dome

• Install hardwood flooring

• Source and install furnishings
